What every board and train includes

  • Your dog trains every day with one of our pro trainers: in the trainer's home for the sleep-over and custom programs, or with drop-off each morning and pick-up each evening for the day program.
  • A one-on-one session with you at the end: 2 hours for the 1 week, 2 week and day programs, and 1 hour for the custom program.
  • Daily photo or video updates on the 1 week and 2 week sleep-over programs.
  • The remote collar system on the 1 week, 2 week and day programs (the custom program does not include tools).
  • Refreshers after graduation: one free refresher with the 1 week program, and lifetime refreshers with the 2 week and day programs.

Frequently misunderstood facts

  • We do not have a storefront. Lessons meet at places chosen for your dog or at your home, and board and train dogs stay in a trainer's home. Call us to set up a time.
  • Board and train dogs stay in a trainer's home, not a kennel. House manners are easiest to build where a dog is actually living.
  • Board and train and lessons are different. In board and train, your dog stays and trains with our trainer. In lessons, you handle your own dog in one-on-one sessions with a trainer.
  • The 1 week and 2 week board and train programs are not for aggression. They are not for dogs with major behavior problems, high reactivity or aggression. Those dogs do better in our High Reactivity/Aggression Program ($1,200), eight private lessons.
  • Dogs in the aggression program must be muzzle conditioned first. Your dog needs to be comfortable wearing a muzzle before the first lesson. Some dogs need a slower pace or extra lessons, at the trainer's recommendation.
  • Off-leash work is at the trainer's discretion. If a dog is anxious, a flight risk or shows aggression, being off leash is not in its best interest, and the trainer will tell you.
  • Advanced lessons come after Basic Obedience. Your dog must finish our Basic Obedience Package before advanced lessons.
  • Age rules differ by program. Happy Puppy programs start at 8 weeks, obedience lessons at five months, and board and train at six months.
  • Packages are paid before lessons are scheduled. All training packages must be paid in full before scheduling. After payment, we help you schedule your appointments.

What Off Leash K9 Training of Myrtle Beach is not

  • Not a storefront you can walk into. We meet you at places chosen for your dog or at your home, by appointment.
  • Not a kennel. Board and train dogs stay in a trainer's home.
  • Not a quick fix. Programs run from a single lesson to two weeks of board and train, followed by practice at home.
  • Not a substitute for veterinary care. A medical issue that affects behavior may need a veterinarian alongside training.
  • Not the same business as other Off Leash K9 Training locations. This page covers the Myrtle Beach location only, serving the Grand Strand and Brunswick County, NC.
