Why professional training is essential for Murrells Inlet dog owners
Behavior modification
Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.
Safety & control
A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.
Stronger bond
Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.
Skills that transfer
We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.
Family harmony
A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.
Our dog training programs for Murrells Inlet dogs
Board and train with a trainer in their own home, private lessons, and programs built for puppies and reactive dogs. Here is how they break down.

Board & train
Your dog stays with one of our trainers in their home, not a kennel, with daily picture and video updates, then a hand-over session with you.
- One-week and two-week sleep-over programs
- Off-leash work in the two-week program
- A two-hour hand-over session at the end
Puppies and problem behavior
A head start for young puppies, and focused help for the problems a general obedience program does not solve on its own.

Built for how Murrells Inlet dogs actually live
Murrells Inlet life happens on the water. The MarshWalk runs along the inlet past the restaurants, boats go in and out at Morse Park Landing, and Huntington Beach State Park sits at the edge of town. A dog here gets a lot of chances to practice, and a lot of chances to forget everything you taught it at home.
The Waccamaw Neck Bikeway is a good example. Bikes, joggers and other dogs all come by on the same path, so a dog that pulls or lunges makes the whole walk harder. Heel, sit and a solid come are what turn that into an easy outing, and that is what our lessons teach, with you holding the leash.
Off-leash work is a different goal. It comes through our two week board and train, which includes off-leash commands and public outings before we hand your dog back with a two-hour session for you.

What our clients say
“After 2 weeks with Joyell we can walk her in the neighborhood without her pulling on leash and introduce her to other people without her jumping on them.”
“Tucker was trained within one week ! He has become a good listener and easily follows on command!”
“She taught my standard poodle and myself so much in just 8 sessions. I feel like I have better control over my dog and actually have commands and knowledge to know when to implement them.”
Frequently asked questions
Can you help my dog walk calmly on the MarshWalk?
That is what our obedience lessons are for. Over five private lessons your dog learns heel, come, sit, place, down, break and off, and you learn how to use them. The MarshWalk is a good place to practice once the basics are solid at home.
What is the difference between one week and two week board and train?
The one week program is seven nights focused on house manners and core commands. The two week program is fourteen nights and adds off-leash commands and public outings. Both end with a two-hour hand-over session. They are $1,600 and $2,800, and details are on our plans and pricing page.
Is my grown dog too old to train?
No. A four-year-old chocolate lab who pulled hard enough to nearly drag her owners is one of the reviews on this page. Lessons start at five months and board and train at six months.
My dog gets worked up around other dogs. Where should I start?
Call us first. The regular one and two week programs are not for dogs with high reactivity or aggression, and our reactivity and aggression lessons are built for them. We will help you work out what fits on a free phone consultation.
