Where Bagel started

Bagel is a Beagle. Yes, a Beagle named Bagel. Her family had already tried a different and more expensive training for her, and it did not work.

She howled when she saw other dogs. She howled at the family cat. She jumped on people.

The training journey

When the family first spoke with Joyell, she explained all the options and offered some suggestions. What they remember is that she "never once pushed us to purchase her training." They talked it over at home and decided to give her program a chance.

They chose the one week board and train. Joyell kept them informed and answered their questions every day. On the second day, when the videos and pictures came in, they could already see a difference in Bagel.

At the end of the week Joyell went over all the training Bagel had done, then worked with the family until they knew what they needed to keep doing at home.

What actually changed

  • The howling. Bagel no longer howls when she sees other dogs, or the cat.
  • The jumping. She does not jump as much. Her family is honest that they are still working on this one.
  • Everything else. In their words, she is better behaved all around.

★★★★★

“We have a Beagle, need I say more? We previously tried a different and more expensive training for Bagel, yes, a Beagle named Bagel, which obviously didn’t work. When we spoke with Joyell, she was very informative, explained all the options and offered some suggestions but never once pushed us to purchase her training. […] On the second day, when Joyell sent the videos and pictures, we already noticed a difference in Bagel. […] Bagel no longer “howls” when she sees other dogs (or our cat), she doesn’t jump (as much – we are working on this), and she is better behaved all around.”

What it changed for her family

Bagel's family is clear that the week was a starting point. They work on her commands and lessons every day, and they know it will take more work at home on their part.

What they have now is a plan, and someone to call. They wrote that they know Joyell will be there if they have questions and will keep giving them the support they need.

Why Bagel's story matters to us

We like this review because it is honest. One week did not make Bagel perfect, and her family did not pretend it did. It gave them a dog who listens and the skills to keep going, which is what good training at Off Leash K9 Training Myrtle Beach is supposed to do.

Before and after

Bagel the Beagle howled at other dogs and at the family cat, and an earlier, more expensive training had not helped. After a one week board and train with Joyell she no longer howls at them, and her family has a daily plan to keep building on it.

If your dog barks, howls or lunges at other dogs, our reactive and aggressive dog training page explains how we approach it. Bagel's program was a one week board and train. Common questions are answered on our FAQ page.
